Overview

A easy and fast to prepare Potatoes au Gratin. I found this recipe a long time ago on the internet so I’m not sure how authentic this recipe is. It does however make a great side dish that’s easy to prepare.

Ingredients

1lbPotatoesYukon Gold or russet potatoes, peeled
cupHeavy Creamyou can substitute milk or half milk, half cream
1Onioncut into long slivers
1cloveGarlicpeeled and smashed
½tspSalt
¼tspBlack Pepperground
pinchNutmeg
1cupGruyèrefinely shredded, enough to cover

Method

  1. preheat oven to 400ºF
  2. cut raw potatoes into thin slices
  3. add cream, potatoes, salt, pepper, nutmeg, onion, garlic in a pot, bring to a boil. Stir carefully from time to time
  4. when it boils pour into a baking dish, spread evenly
  5. cover with cheese
  6. bake for around 40 minutes
  7. let it rest for 15 minutes
